We are growing and searching for an Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our team at our Windsor HearCANADA clinics! This is a full-time contract position and typical hours of work will be Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm local time supporting multi-sites including Essex, Jackson Park, Tecumseh, and Lakeshore.

What you will do:
•Assist in troubleshooting customer product issues
• Where the appropriate background and training exists, under the direction of the clinician perform hearing screenings and annual hearing assessments
• Demonstrate product features and benefits
• Assist customers in basic product maintenance and care
• Discuss communicative strategies with customers
• Following established protocols and as assigned by the supervising Audiologist, CDA may load existing settings from NOAH following a repair, perform electro-acoustic analysis and verification on hearing aids (with interpretation by supervising Audiologist)
• Manage documentation pertaining to customer purchases and insurance claims that may include entering prescriptions or hearing aid recommendations into TCM, assisting the customer with third party claims and processes, and providing follow up
• Recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities through various mediums (walk-ins, customer referrals, telephone inquiries, retention practices, etc.)
• Conduct effective telephone follow up for new fittings (48 hours follow up calls)
• Conduct telephone follow up to re-schedule “no shows” and cancellations according to procedures
• Maintain basic knowledge of hearing aid technology and be able to perform cleaning functions and in-office minor repairs depending upon requirements
• Maintain knowledge of assistive listening devices and ability to demonstrate/recommend appropriate products
• Identify and participate in community events and organizations to promote HearCANADA (community-based marketing, CBM)
• Act as a liaison with physicians’ offices and other referral sources to maximize opportunities
• Other related duties as assigned
What we are looking for:
• A diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant from a CDAAC recognized Communicative Disorders Assistance Program, Hearing Instrument Dispenser or extensive experience working in the clinic with hearing aids (cleans and checks) and customers are required
• Where applicable, current registration in good standing with regulatory body or provincially recognized licensing body
• 1-2 years of experience working in a hearing aid centre
• Experience in an environment with an emphasis on customer interaction and sales and having to work with multiple tasks is required
• Experience working with senior population is an asset
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers and co-workers
• Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is required; willingness to participate in travel for events and community engagements is required; willingness to travel to provide support multi-sites including Essex, Jackson Park. Tecumseh, and Lakeshore.
