About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for acting as a subject matter expert in general marketing and providing leadership to the marketing team within our HearCANADA Retail division. Core duties include developing advertising campaigns, maximizing profits, competitive intelligence, and maintaining strong public relations and brand image.
Key Details:
Location: Burlington, ON (Mainway HearCANADA/WSA Canada Head Office location)
Working Model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite is required)
Job Type: Full-time, contract position (~9 months with potential for extension)
Hours: 37.5 hour work week; Monday through Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm local time
Irregular Hours Expectation: Some infrequent flexibility to meet deadlines, events, etc. (lieu time/modified hours will be granted to accommodate)
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 / annum based on experience +8% in lieu of vacation and benefits as this is a contract position
Travel Requirement: ~10% for internal and external events, meetings, or summits; most travel is within the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) or surrounding areas; some infrequent overnight national travel could be expected based on event locations
What you'll be responsible for:
Leads, trains, and develops the marketing team to deliver the approved marketing strategy; collaborates closely with Retail leadership teams to develop strategies.
Project manages the delivery of effective and accurate marketing tactics in line with the approved marketing strategies on local and national levels; this includes project timelines, budgets, cross-functional team collaboration, and allocation of resources.
Develops copy across multiple media in line with corporate strategies and messaging.
Ensures that the streams of marketing (traditional, digital, CBM [Community Based Marketing]) are aligned to meet the strategic goals of the marketing department.
Effectively monitors and measures marketing activities outcomes including metrics such as CPL, ROI, conversion rate, ASP and CPS.
Recommends profitable marketing tactics based on outcomes and results analysis.
Acts as a superuser of corporate systems (TCM, CRM) and knowledge of reporting system (BI) to effectively monitor and target national and local marketing tactics.
Evaluates the capacity, structure, ad-hock and regular cadence coaching, mentorship, and performance of the marketing team; collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Human Resources department related to employee performance, employee relations, and recruitment of resources.
Stays abreast of current and merging marketing trends, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
Supports events management including project managing event execution, budgeting, collateral, compliance, and post-event reviews.
Manages relationships and partnerships with external vendors, agencies, and industry partners.
Acts as a subject matter expert on sales, operations, professional service procedures and policies of LHC to ensure proper communication to all stakeholders
What we're looking for:
Post-secondary education in Marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
10+ years of progressive experience in marketing with some direct experience in B2C marketing.
3+ years of experience in direct people leadership.
Strong understanding within all areas of marketing including traditional, digital, events, content, and communications.
Experience using data and analytics to evaluate campaign performance, identify trends and opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve marketing effectiveness, lead quality, conversion, and ROI.
Strong technical aptitude and experience working with a range of marketing technology platforms and tools. Experience with platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Semrush, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, ClickDimensions, Hotjar or other heat-mapping tools, and Unbounce is preferred.
Experience in healthcare consumer marketing, retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or another highly competitive B2C environment is strongly preferred.
Business-acumen to spot opportunities, trends, and innovation and translate them into marketing strategies and plans through campaign strategy development, execution, and post-campaign reporting.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to work with people across all levels of seniority in the organization.
Self-starter attitude with the ability to handle conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and campaigns simultaneously.
Bilingualism in French and English would be considered a definite asset, though not a requirement
Some infrequent work-related travel (less than 5%) may be required for initial or continuous training, and/or events.
Some flexibility to work modified hours for after-hours activities for events, product launches, or to meet specific deadlines may be expected.
Experience in healthcare consumer marketing, retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or another highly competitive B2C environment is strongly preferred.
