Summary:
Acting as the divisional CFO for the retail business unit (c. 300 million USD), this role combines financial stewardship with operational insight to support patient-centric retail services and offerings.
The CFO should play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of business plans by providing financial insights on business performance and advising on the best course of action. They will build strategic partnerships with the retail senior leadership team to deliver effective financial business partnering.
Our Retail CFO will manage financial reporting to management, own the key performance metrics for local leadership and monthly management reporting to group and as well as controlling and financial planning for US Retail.
This individual will champion integrity and reinforce effective risk management and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
Play a leadership role in supporting the development and execution of business plans by providing financial insights on business performance and advising on the best course of action.
Develop strategic partnership with the senior leadership to become a trusted advisor, educating, supporting, and challenging where appropriate to drive the business agenda.
Drives decision making by working with integrated teams, including analytics, to provide commercial insights that will support informed decision making, managing volatility, and maximizing profitability.
Make strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership based on thought-provoking and sound analytics, both proactively and in response to requests
Contribute to the reporting process by providing business nuance and insight, and through review of financial reports (P&L / Balance Sheet reports etc.) / regulatory reports as required (statutory / tax / other)
Convert complex organizational initiatives and multiple data sources into visually compelling stories for executive and leadership presentations.
Significant involvement in Scenario Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting. Challenge and review of management accounts, plans, budgets and forecasts to provide decision support and direction.
Identify emerging themes, analyze relevant data from both internal and external sources, and communicate recommendations to team leadership.
Ensure compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements across different entities.
Challenge central functions to provide more efficient and cost-effective services to the Business
Closely follow-up macro-economic developments and assess their impacts towards the business and provide guidance on how to navigate.
Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with business objectives for the US Retail Business
Oversee and manage working capital to optimize liquidity and cash flow within the US Retail Business
Develop strategies and initiatives to enhance working capital efficiency and minimize financial risk.
Leverage ERP systems to streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and business development activities.
Play a key role in M&A strategy in the retail business expansion
Attend Board meetings and represent the finance agenda on a quarterly basis
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
8–12+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles and commercial finance related roles.
Retail-specific expertise in financial planning, budgeting, ERP systems, and compliance
Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills.
Strong experience with ERP systems and performance dashboards.
Experience managing complex financial operations across multiple business disciplines
Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams.
A proven track record of leadership, with the ability to both set strategic direction and execute hands-on financial management.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
Experience supporting IPO readiness initiatives preferred
Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary finance
Demonstrated ability to implement scalable financial systems and controls.
Ability to travel occasionally – 5-10% annually
